Trees is, first and foremost, an organization to bring people together with the shared interest of advocating for our trees. This includes advocating for the planting of new trees with an emphasis on native trees, advocating for the knowledgeable care and protection of our existing trees, woodlands and forests, and advocating for trees at risk for harm or destruction from development.

While the removal of trees is sometimes an unavoidable or necessary part of growth and development, their destruction brings unintended consequences including issues of erosion, stormwater runoff, pollution, noise, and loss of shade, aesthetics, and quality of life. The destruction of trees should therefore be approached with thoughtful, informed consideration by all parties, with an eye toward minimizing the impact of development on trees whenever possible.
